20 weeks

Well I am half way there and I finally look pregnant. I did take a picture finally however I look pissed off or like I am going to cry which I wasn't at all. Oh well the rest will be much more happy. I still can't feel the baby or at least I don't think I can since the "bubbles" I feel I swear are from digestion. I am waiting to feel a knock on my stomach or something. I feel really good for the most part and the only real change is I can stand more foods like chicken and I get a wave of sleepiness at random times. I finally bought maternity jeans which are super comfortable but need to work on some cute tops. Baby boy is apparently very healthy and growing perfectly so I couldn't be happier.

Top boy names right now that I like:
  • Christian
  • Levi
  • John Vincent
  • Gavin
  • Lance
  • Finley

We're having a boy!

What a shocker...the little baby is a boy! We were planning and picturing a girl the whole time and lo and behold there is a little penis. :) Why were we thinking it was a girl? Well the ultrasound tech told us at 12 weeks that what she saw looked to be a girl but not to go out and buy pink yet. When she realized he was a boy she felt super bad so note to anyone who think their tech knows what they are talking about at 12 weeks...don't believe them.

The tech decided to reveal the gender last and so when she went down to the kidneys I saw the penis or at least that is what I thought it was. She saw it too but none of us said anything. She went to the 12 week snapshots to see why she thought girl and then came back to the live monitor and said "well I hope you didn't buy anything yet because you will want to buy purple or blue because as you can see it is a boy". Brian and I looked at each other and were like what? Wow were we wrong.

After a couple of hours of this news sinking in and telling friends and family who thought pretty much girl as well we realized it was perfect that we were having a boy. He will be the protector of his little brother or sister and will probably less maintenance than a girl. Still hoping though that #2 is a girl. :) Now we are back to square 1 with names and decorating the room. So far I haven't even looked at boy clothes so this is a new adventure for me. I can't wait to meet our little boy in August and give him lots of kisses. For now I am smothering Sonny as much as I can as I know he will get less when the little guy comes.
