We are expecting a new addition to our family

Brian and I found out 5 weeks ago that we were pregnant. I had some symptoms that persuaded me to go to the store and by a pregnany test and low and behold I was. I ended up taking 4 tests and all were positive. For some reason after I had peed on the stick I had this overwhelming feeling that it would say positive.

We were both in shock for about 2 weeks and it took up until our first ultrasound at 8 weeks to really grasp that we were having a baby. The little heartbeat was so exciting to see and we can't wait until our next one at 12 weeks.

Telling friends and family have been fun. We aren't very private people and so we starting telling people at 6 weeks. It was super hard to keep in the secret and we were just so excited to tell people since many have been waiting for 4 years to hear this news.

We decided to tell my family at our pre-Christmas function. I had Meggie and Nate open a bib that said "I love Grandpa" and then I wrote everyone's name on it. When they opened it everyone just sat there and stared. No one got it. Then my sister looked at me and said "are you pregnant" and I said yes. Everyone jumped up and screamed in excitement and my mom ran over to hug me and started crying. Basically the family is over joyed with the news. My grandma blurted out "I just didn't think you were ever going to have a baby so I just gave up". It was quite classic. The picture below is of my grandma saying this.

We told the Vivaldi family over Christmas and they are all super excited as well. I think the most excited person is cousin Cindy Camilucci. She has already volunteered to baby sit. I can't wait for all the girls to come out when I have a baby shower.

Christmas 2009

It was a great Christmas this year. First we celebrated at home with my family and then we celebrated with Brian's family in Folsom but we ended our trip with a little vacation in San Francisco. The trip was filled with seeing lots of family, especially cousins. We also don't get to see Brian's brother Mike that often and it was great to catch up with him.

Rod the wine god of the family opened a1996 BV Georges De Latour which was to die for. He always supplies the good stuff.

Unfortunately we both got sick on New Years Eve and ended up staying home. We were awaken at midnight by Sonny barking at the fireworks.
